Welcome to the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) at Wayne State University.
The Office of Equal Opportunity reports directly to the Vice President and General Counsel.
The OGC provides legal counsel and representation to Wayne State University on the broad range of legal matters affecting the University. The Office serves the University's Board of Governors, President, administrators, faculty and staff, in their official capacities, to accomplish their institutional objectives.
The OGC provides legal advice to foster sound decision-making in all areas of operation, instruction, research and administration. We are committed to providing the highest quality legal services in a responsible, helpful and timely manner; to protecting and promoting the values and interests of the University, including compliance with its obligations; to minimizing legal risks and costs; and to addressing and resolving legal disputes.
We strive to be problem solvers; to defend the interests of the University and its constituents; to protect and promote the integrity of the University; and to practice preventative law.
